Our Story

Founded by Preea V Kumar in her early fifties, the brand was born from a quiet yet determined vision. After a successful career in marketing and brand management with leading multinational companies, Preea chose to step away from the corporate world to pursue something deeply personal — creating home décor pieces with soul, craftsmanship, and individuality at a time when the market was overflowing with mass-produced imports.
What began as a solitary creative pursuit crafting miniature décor arrangements in pre-decorated shelves soon evolved into a world of handcrafted furniture, bespoke lamps, and imaginative statement pieces fashioned from reclaimed and repurposed wood. But the heart of Pretty Things Depot was never just about décor — it was about people.
During the uncertainty of the Covid years, Preea began training women who had lost employment, patiently nurturing talents they themselves never knew they possessed. Through creativity, craftsmanship, and confidence, a community of artisans was born — women who today pour care and character into every piece that leaves our workshop.
Three years later, Pretty Things Depot proudly welcomes customers to its two stores in Powai and Linking Road, Bandra West, each filled with creations unlike anything else in the world of décor.
Terrariums so enchanting they seem made for fairies. Lamps worthy of palace corridors. Moss-woven baskets inspired by forest floors. Chandeliers that appear gathered from the wilderness itself.
